Cephalanthus occidentalis
Local name: Buttonbrush
Striking appearance due to the round fluffy flowers. These are usually situated in bunches together. The release a sweet scent that attracts butterflies and bees.
Although they aren't much in size these plants are truly ornamental. Even after flowering they still look lovely.
Cephalanthus is extremely winter hardy and can grow out to 1.50 meters in height.Suitable for a sunny to reasonably shady habitat. Also suited for wetter soils.
