Chaenomeles cathayensis
Local name: Japanese quince
This Japanese quince barely branches out and reaches an eventual hight of around 3 meters. The leaves are small and long and have a red colour with a slight blush. The flowers are white with a touch of pastel pink. Later, when fall arrives, the enormous fruits make a shine for it and are 15 cm in size! These can be used either for decoration or for juice. The Japanese quince tolerates the shade and can also be planted on heavy soils.
